MINONG, Wis. — A 20-year-old Marine killed in Iraq was a “wonderful kid. He had a real big heart,” his high school counselor recalled March 19.
Lance Cpl. Harry H. Timberman of Minong died March 17 from wounds received while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, the U.S. Defense Department said in a statement.
Timberman, a rifleman, was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, out of Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Timberman moved to Minong from Colorado with his mother in 2001 and enrolled in Northwood High School as a sophomore, said Paul Lake, a counselor at the school. He wrestled for the Evergreens, but...

Harry, Catrina loved you with all her heart and you kept her going with your love and support before during and after she lost your niece/nephew who is buried at the Penrose cemetary. She talked of you all the time and looked forward to your calls and letters. I am sorry that I will never get to meet you at least in this world but you will always hold a special place in the heart of all the Maxwells. Please say hello to that little angel in heaven for us. To your parents and family: We will hold them in our prayers and thoughts. God Bless You Harry and your family.
