
PORTLAND, Ore. — A Marine from Oregon was killed during combat in Iraq, the military announced March 14.
Lance Cpl. Nathanial D. Windsor, 20, died in Anbar province, according to the Defense Department. Windsor was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, in Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Windsor’s father, Robert Windsor of Gladstone, told The Oregonian that his son was shot in the neck while questioning detainees last weekend, and later died at a military hospital.
