
BALTIMORE — A Marine who grew up in Maryland was killed over the weekend in the fighting in Iraq, the Department of Defense announced Monday.
Cpl. Kirk J. Bosselmann, 21, who grew up in Dickerson in Montgomery County before moving to Napa, Calif., after graduating from high school, was killed Saturday in Iraq’s Anbar province. Bosselmann was killed as the result of enemy action, but the Pentagon would not release more details.
Bosselmann was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp at Lejeune, N.C.
