
FORT LEWIS, Wash. — A Stryker brigade soldier died in Iraq when his unit was hit with enemy fire, the Pentagon said May 26.
Sgt. Iosiwo Uruo, 27, of Agana Heights, Guam, died May 24 when his unit encountered small-arms enemy fire in Buhriz, about 40 miles north of Baghdad and just south of Baqouba.
Uruo was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. He joined the Army in January 2001 as a cavalry scout. He served at Fort Knox, Ky., and Camp Casey, Korea, and was most recently based at Fort Lewis, Wash.
