Think of me as one at rest, for me you should not weep. I have no cares, no troubled thoughts, for now I am asleep.--The living breathing me that was, is now forever still, and time goes on without me as time forever will.--Those of you who liked me, I sincerely thank you all, and those of you who loved me, I thank you most of all.--It matters not if time began or if time will ever cease. I was here, I used it all, and now I am at peace.

The Marine Poem....I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness.....should I fail. I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, pained, and hoped.....but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was.....A Marine.

He stared in the face of death without a second thought to fight for freedom that he so bravely sought. He walked as close to " HELL ON EARTH" as any man could do. And he's so proud of the job he did for people he never knew. He put his life on the line each and every time that duty called. Always did what needed to be done without even a pause. He was a Marine with overwhelming pride. Never afraid to take a chance when fighting for our freedom and rights. Often he said " It's my job." But we really know that he was very special and was always ready to go. So when you hear The Battle Hymn of the Republic stand aside and look with pride.
