Dania Beach soldier remembered as being ‘too good to be true’

MIAMI — A Dania Beach paratrooper killed in Afghanistan earlier this week was described by relatives as always looking out for others — whether his siblings or soldiers.
Army 1st Sgt. Michael S. Curry Jr., 37, was among four members of the Vicenza, Italy-based 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, who died July 23 after a bomb exploded near their vehicle in Sarobi, a town east of Kabul.
“He was so wonderful, like something that is too good to be true,” said Curry’s sister, Niki Martin.
Curry would give his two sisters an allowance from the money he earned working at a Winn-Dixie...
