FOREST GROVE, Ore. &mdash The body of an Oregon sailor who was killed while serving as a medic with the Marines in Afghanistan arrived Saturday at Dover Air Force Base for transfer to Forest Grove where his funeral will be held.
Ryley Gallinger-Long will be buried in Willamette National Cemetery.
The 19-year-old hospitalman from Cornelius was killed Thursday. His brother Zack Gallinger-Long of Hillsboro told The Oregonian he was shot while tending to a wounded Marine.
Ryley Gallinger-Long was a 2010 graduate of Forest Grove High School who married his high school sweetheart in March. He was assigned to a Marine unit at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
