MINNEAPOLIS — The Army has scheduled a memorial service in Germany for a soldier who grew up in Minnesota and was killed March 25 in Iraq after a bomb exploded near his vehicle, the Army said.
Spc. Sean K. McDonald, 21, died in Baghdad from wounds he suffered in the explosion.
McDonald was assigned to the Army’s 9th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, in Wiesbaden, Germany.
He is the 55th person with strong Minnesota ties to die in connection with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
