ATLANTA — A memorial service is scheduled Feb. 8 for a 22-year-old Marine corporal from Roswell who died earlier this month in Iraq.
The Defense Department said Richard O. Quill III died Feb. 1 in Anbar province of a “non-hostile cause,” but released no other details.
The department said Quill was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1 Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Quill, known as Richey, was a graduate of Roswell High School.
