
The Army will hold a memorial service in Germany for Sgt. Tatjana Reed, a soldier formerly stationed in Kentucky who died in Iraq last week.
Reed, 34, was killed June 22 when a homemade bomb detonated near her convoy in Samarra, the Defense Department reported this week. Another soldier, Spc. Torey J. Dantzler, 22, of Columbia, La., also died in the explosion.
A memorial service Friday at Kaiserslautern, Germany, will honor both soldiers who were assigned to the 66th Transportation Company. Reed was a truck driver in the unit, which had been in Iraq since January.
