PINE HILL, N.J. — A soldier who enlisted to serve his country after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was killed in a roadside explosion just three weeks after arriving in Iraq, military officials said.
Spc. Adam Froehlich, 21, died from injuries sustained when his patrol was hit by an improvised explosive device. Two other soldiers were wounded and were reported to be in stable condition.
Froehlich had enlisted in the Army two years ago after graduating from Overbrook High School in Pine Hill, his brother said. He also hoped to pursue a college education after serving in the military and wanted to become a gym teacher.
