LINCOLN, Neb. — Funeral services for a Lincoln soldier killed last week in Iraq have been set.
Services for 1st Lt. Garrison Avery are at 10 a.m. Monday at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., said Rev. Dean O’Bryan, pastor at Trinity Baptist Church, where the family attends.
Avery will be buried in the West Point Cemetery.
Avery and two other soldiers were killed Wednesday when a roadside bomb exploded near their Humvee in Baghdad. Avery is a 2004 West Point graduate and 2000 graduate of Lincoln High School.
Details for a memorial service in Lincoln are pending, O’Bryan said.
