One day we will gather together and remember those days. To this day I still can remember and hear you clear as day when you scream up at the barracks to the soldiers for formation. He was a great guy, we went school together and his death was a surprise for many of his friends. We will never forget you.

O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest, look kindly on Your departed veteran who gave his life in the service of his country. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of Your Son he may share in the joy of Your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in You with Your saints forever.
