
LAS VEGAS — A Marine from Henderson has been killed in Iraq, the Defense Department said.
Cpl. Jesse Jaime, 22, died Tuesday, along with three other Marines, when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations near Ramadi, the military said in a statement issued Thursday.
All four Marines were assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Jaime is at least the tenth soldier from Nevada to die in Iraq since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003. He was the second soldier from Nevada to die in a week.
