FORT RILEY, Kan. — Two soldiers, one from Fort Riley, were killed during non-combat convoy operations when a Humvee rolled over in Afghanistan, the military reported Saturday.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel E. Miller, of Rossford, Ohio, and Army Sgt. 1st Class Scott Carney, of Ankeny, Iowa, died when the Humvee they were riding in flipped Friday near Herat, Afghanistan, according to Fort Riley officials.
Miller, 43, was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, at Fort Riley.
Carney, 37, was assigned to the National Guard’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division in Boone, Iowa.
