ADAMSVILLE, Ala. — Family and friends said their last goodbyes this Memorial Day weekend to a Jefferson County soldier who was killed while serving in Afghanistan.
Authorities say 23-year-old Sgt. Carlie Lee III was killed in Afghanistan during a fire fight.
Lee’s funeral was Saturday afternoon at Crestview Gardens and Funeral Home in Adamsville. Burial followed at Bayview Cemetery in Mulga.
Lee was on his second tour in Afghanistan. He had already signed up for a third tour.
