
BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Funeral services are July 14 for a Brookfield sailor killed last week in Iraq.
Petty Officer 1st Class Jason Dale Lewis, 30, a member of the elite Navy SEAL unit, died July 6 when a homemade bomb detonated under the Humvee in which he was riding, military officials said.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. July 14 at the First Assembly of God Church in Brookfield. Associate pastor the Rev. Mark Cernero, a longtime acquaintance, is expected to take part in the service. Lewis was 4 years old when Cernero first met him.
