GROTON, Mass. &mdash This small town is paying final respects to a local Marine killed in Afghanistan.
A wake for Cpl. William Woitowicz, 23, was scheduled for June 15 at St. Catherine&rsquos Church in nearby Westford, with a funeral Mass is scheduled for early June 16 at St. Catherine&rsquos.
The Pentagon said Woitowicz was killed earlier this month after suffering multiple traumatic injuries from small arms fire in Badghis province.
He joined the Marines shortly after his 2007 graduation from Groton-Dunstable High School, where he played basketball.
He is survived by his parents, a brother and a sister.
