      Thank God for men like him

    3. Stephen R. Bixler May 19, 2006 at 12:00 am

      Sorry as I’m sure he was a brave soldier…

      It’s difficult to lose a loved one…

      But knowing that he served his country gallanty may ease the pain somewhat…

      God bless his remaining family holding him lovingly in their hearts…

      Thank you for serving our country. Too bad that so many ungrateful people will not realize that our freedom is not free. You, like many other brave men and women paid the ultimate price that we might live in a free society. I thank you and salute you!

      God bless you all! I post an italian prayer, the Sailor Prayer, written by Antonio Fogazzaro. My grandpa was a general in the Italian Air Force, and his dad was general in the Italian Navy, and so on in the past. We all appreciated, and still we do, the great courage and valour of US Armed Forces. Thank you all.

      PREGHIERA DEL MARINAIO

      A Te, o grande eterno Iddio,

      Signore del cielo e dell’abisso,

      cui obbediscono i venti e le onde, noi,

      uomini di mare e di guerra,Ufficiali e Marinai d’Italia,

      da questa sacra nave armata della Patria leviamo i cuori.

      Salva ed esalta, nella Tua fede, o gran Dio, la nostra Nazione.

      Dà giusta gloria e potenza alla nostra bandiera,

      comanda che la tempesta ed i flutti servano a lei;

      poni sul nemico il terrore di lei;

      fa che per sempre la cingano in difesa petti di ferro,

      più forti del ferro che cinge questa nave,

      a lei per sempre dona vittoria.

      Benedici , o Signore, le nostre case lontane, le care genti.

      Benedici nella cadente notte il riposo del popolo,

      benedici noi che, per esso, vegliamo in armi sul mare.

      Benedici!

      I Did Not Die

      Do not stand at my grave and weep.
      I am not there. I do not sleep.
      I am a thousand winds that blow;
      I am the diamond glints on snow.
      I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
      I am the gentle Autumn’s rain.

      When you awaken in the morning’s hush.
      I am the swift uplifting rush
      Of quiet birds in circled flight.
      I am the soft star that shines at night.
      Do not stand at my grave and cry.
      I am not there;
      I did not die

      May Christ support us all the day long,
      till the shadows lengthen,
      and the evening comes,
      and the busy world is hushed,
      and the fever of life is over
      and our work is done.
      Then in His mercy
      may He give us a safe lodging,
      and holy rest and peace at the last.

      Amen.

      While i respect that your death was in the line of duty, it would appear that it was in vain. Saddam was never a threat to Americas freedom and nor anyone elses. im afraid to say that your leader is the one responcible for your death and it was for no good reason. many condolences to your family and i hope this pointless loss of life is stopped soon.

      LOL

      You muzlims kill me. We are fighting in Iraq to speed up modernity in the Middle East. One by one other Arab people will demand their free elections.

      What has been a pleasant surprise about Iraq is that despite the liberaters beeing infidels (Modern), the people of Iraq said yes to democracy and no to the Izlamikkk terror gangs aka Islamo-fascists. They did it 3 times in 2005. Despite death threats from the Izmalic terror gangs, they choose modernity over sharia.
