Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 17, 2008 at 12:00 am

The Measure of a Man.~~Not: ” How did he die?” but ” How did he live?”~~Not: ” What did he gain?” but ” What did he give?”~~Not: ” What was his station?” but ” Had he a heart?”~~Not: ” What was his shrine?” nor ” What was his creed?” but ” Had he really befriended those really in need ?” ~~ Not: ” What did the piece in the paper say?” but “How many were sorry when he passed away?” “Was he always ready with a word or good cheer, to bring back a smile or banish a tear?’~~These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth.

My Dearest Family don’t cry for me. To walk the Earth wasn’t meant to be. I’m in GOD’S House you see. I watch over you every day. I know you love me in a very special way. You wanted me to be healthy and whole, so you had to let me go. You will get to see me every day as you look at all that have past your way.~~You will know what you do is right, when you look at the sky on a clear star filled night. I will be the star that is shining so bright. I love you all so much–good-night.

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 16, 2008 at 12:00 am

If Heaven had a phone; I can not dial your number, I can’t get through to you. I called the Operator, she did all she could do. –There is no code to Heaven, I can not place the call. No numbers to try, I reckon I’ve tried them all. –If Heaven had a phone, I’d ring you every day. If Heaven had a phone, there’s things I wanna say.–Tell you that I love you, miss you since you went away, and how much I prayed to GOD, that He could have let you stay.– Oh Jeremy, if Heaven had a phone, there’s things I want to know, things I want to tell you, How do you feel ? Should I stay or go ? Are you looking over to me ? Do you see me cry a tear ? Questions I want to ask ? Answers I need to hear. –If Heaven head a phone, I’d ring you every day, my life has had no meaning, since the day GOD took you away. –I only know sadness, more tears again today. Maybe one day I’ll smile without you, until then I will cry. One day the sun may shine for me, like it did for you and I. My life was for tomorrow, now my life is yesterday. I cannot face this world alone, Please show me the way. –If Heaven had a phone, I’d ring you every day. If Heaven had a phone, I’d hear your voice, know you’re okay. –I just want to speak to Heaven, please do you have a direct line. Operator says no number, but your loved one says their doing fine.–Deep and heart-felt sympathy from another grieving family.–I imagine this is how you all probably feel.–I will keep you in my prayers–Cheryl

Heaven, where the streets are made of gold. Heaven, where you never age or grow old. Heaven, where life’s secrets unfold. Heaven, where the secrets are told. Heaven, where flowers grow wild. Heaven, your once again a child. Heaven, where weather is always warm and mild. Heaven, where wings lay open for miles. Heaven, where we are free. Heaven, can’t you see ? Heaven, it’s for you and me. Heaven, when we are free.–Minister Dorothy Young, Louisville, Ky.

There’s a home that lies beyond and past it’s golden door awaits the one that’s now away, not lost, just gone before. And in that home that lies beyond the LORD will prepare a place for you. And when he calls you you’ll meet your loved one there.~~Sydney Meyer, Louisville, Ky.

Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand we cannot touch, still we have many memories of the ones we loved so much. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part, GOD has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts.

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 16, 2008 at 12:00 am

My Dearest Family; Some things I’d like to say. But, first of all to let you know I arrived okay. I’m writing this letter from Heaven, where I dwell with GOD Above. Where there is no more tears or sadness there is just eternal love. Please don’t be unhappy just because I’m out of sight, remember that I’m with you every morning, noon, and night. That day I had to leave you, when my life on Earth was through, GOD picked me up and He said, ” I welcome you.” It’s good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on. I need you here so badly as aprt of my big plan. There’s so much we have to do to help our mortal man.” Then GOD gave me a list of things to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you. And I will be beside you every day and week and year, and when you’re sad, I’ll be standing there to wipe away your tears. And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight, GOD and I are closest to you in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on Earth and all those loving years, because you are human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry it does relieve the pain, remember there would be no flowers unless there was some rain. I wish I could tell you of all that GOD has planned for me, but if I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand. But one thing is certain though my life on Earth is over, I am closer to you now than I was before. And to my loved ones and friends, trust that GOD knows what is best. I’m still not far from you, I’m just beyond the crest. There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb; but together we can do it taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too, that as you give unto the world, so the world will give to you. If you can help someone who is in sorrow or pain–then you can say to GOD at night, my day was not in vain. And now I am contented that my life was worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile. So if you meet somebody who is down and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up as on your way you go. When you are walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind, I’m walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind. And when you feel the gentle breeze or wind upon your face, that’s me giving you a great big hug or soft embrace. And when it’s your time to go, from that body to be free. Remember you’re not going, you are coming here to me. And I will always love you—from the land up above. Will be in touch again soon. P.S. GOD sends his love.—Love you all Jeremy

When no words seem appropriate.~~I won’t say,
” I know how you feel ” because I don’t. I have lost parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pets, but I’ve never lost my child. So how can I say ” I know how you feel.” ?~~I won’t say, ” You’ll get over it.” because you won’t. Life will have to go on. The working, washing, cooking, cleaning, the common routine. The chores take your mind off your love and cherished child, but the hurt will still be there.~~I won’t say ” other’s
will comfort you ” because they may not.~~I won’t say, ” Never mind, you are young enough to have another child.” A new child can not replace the child you lost.~~So what will I say ?~~I will say, ” I am here. I care. Anytime. Anywhere.” I will talk about your child. We will talk about the good memories. I won’t mind how long you grieve. I won’t tell you to pull yourself together.”~~No, I do not know how you feel–but with sharing perhaps I will learn a little bit of what you are going through.~~And perhaps you’ll find comfortable with me and find your burden has eased. Try me.~~Friends from Wurtland Middle School.~~

If we could have a lifetime wish, a dream that came
true, we’d pray to GOD with all of our hearts for yesterday and you. A thousand words can’t bring you back, we know because we tried…Neither will a thousand tears, we know because we’ve cried….

My Most Loved and Dear Family—I see you each time you shed a tear, I catch it and kiss you, I hope that you know I am near.~~This place is so beautiful, there’s so much to see. I know that someday you’ll be here with me.~~The angels were singing when I arrived ! JESUS was there with His arms open wide!! –The snow and rain are just my confetti. I know that you’ll be coming and I want to be ready.–When you feel the wind, it’s me walking by. I run and skip now, I can even fly.–When the blossoms and leaves fall in your hair, it’s me planting kisses, yes, I put them there!!–The birds are singing to keep you company, they’re especially for you with love from me.–I know that you miss me and feel so alone, until the great day when you finally come home.–Please remember that as the seasons change from one to another, I’ll always love you, you’re my family and I love you like no other.–Love Jeremy.–

Jeremy was wise for his 22 years, actually he was very wise. He always said life is not a race. Do take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.–We (his friends) are sure gonna miss him.–

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 15, 2008 at 12:00 am

There is nothing I can do, to make Jeremy come back. There are no words I can say, that replaces the words and voice you so long to hear. There are no answers I can give, that will satisfy your questions. There is not another soul that will ever replace him. Never another love that could replace the special love you shared. I can not promise your broken heart will be complete. I will not deny it was a tragedy. I will not lie and tell you that he will come back. For he never really left. I do promise that he hears you. I will say he loves you no matter the distance. I will not lie, he is waiting to greet you someday. He is with you every step you take, he is with you in everything you do. He is the air that you breathe. He is every beat of your heart. He is like the wind. You cannot see him—but you will always feel him.

The Broken Chain.–We little knew that evening that GOD was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, the day GOD called you home.
You left us loving memories, your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seem sthe same. But, as GOD calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 15, 2008 at 12:00 am

The road isn’t as straight as it used to be, it twists and turns and is scary to me. I don’t want to travel this road all alone, please take my hand, show me the way home. Around every corner nothing’s the same, I don’t know know the streets, I don’t know their names. This journey is long, the end is unknown. I’m getting weary and want to go home. But as I travel, there are others I see, traveling down the same road as me. Maybe these travelers will understand, I want to go home, please take my hand. When traveling alone the road seems so long, but traveling with others will make you strong.
Together we’ll walk down the path of the unknown, and by walking together we will make it home.~~My Loving Family, I did not have to walk the path alone, I walked the Streets of Gold with Jesus who held my hand comforted me and Staff Sgt. Roberts on that fateful day.

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 15, 2008 at 12:00 am

What he left behind.~~When someone passes away it is never easy. We tend to think about they will no longer be here to witness instead of what gifts, talents, and memories they gave us. With you it was no different, we will all miss you forever, but you did leave some important things behind for us.~~Jeremy, you showed us that life was short and that we should enjoy every minute that we are blessed with. You were always the one who wanted to have fun and explore the world in which you lived.~~You were a person who could get along with just about anyone. You had friends in a lot of different places. You hung out with everyone. You did not really judge people, but rather let them be who they were and accepted them. A lot can be learned from your example.~~Jeremy your happy, joyful personality will be missed by all of those that were touched by you. We will always treasure the times that we did share.~~Rest well my friend.~~Your many friends from Ft. Campbell.~~P.S. You will never be forgotten. Your unconditional love and concern for all the people in your life was absolutely priceless.

Always near as you walk along the Lakeshore.—
And, am no longer with you —let no tears fall or sorrow prevail. When you see your reflection shimmer in the water— smile and know that I see your smile. When you feel the cool grass beneath your feet and the sun’s warmth upon your back—know that I feel it also. When you hear the leaves rustling in the wind—know it is my voice softly whispering to you. When you see a butterfly dancing among the flowers—know that I am dancing also. When you gently touch a puppy’s soft fur—know that I too feel your touch. When the wind swirls across your skin—know it is I who caressess you. When you all love each other—know that I too feel your love. These words are the truth, my dear sweet loved ones. Have faith dear loved ones—as long as beauty lives upon the earth and stars and love lives on in every beat of every heart—so the do I. So then do we all.

I wish, I knew what the words are that you so desperately need to hear—that will help and heal and remove some of the tears. What are the words that will lighten the load ? I wish I had a secret code. If only I knew the words to say—to encourage and bless you or comfort you in some way.         Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 15, 2008 at 12:00 am

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand. And when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home. When GOD looked down and smiled at me, from His
Golden Throne, He said, ” This is eternity and all I’ve promised you. Today your life on Earth has passed, and here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrows, but today will always last, and since each day is the same, there’s no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, so trusting and true, though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do. But you have been forgiven, and know at last you’re free, so won’t you take my hand and share my life with me?” So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for everytime you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

Granted~~We took for granted ” another day”. We took for granted “we’ll talk to you later.”
We took for granted “we’ll see you tomorrow.”
Tomorrow did not come for you, talk for you didn’t either; and we did not get another day with you. We took for granted we would have all of these things with you. But now we stand corrected in knowing we were Granted the Privilege of knowing you and that we are forever blessed with your memory. Only GOD knows how much we miss you, for Jeremy, you were priceless.~~Friends from Ft. Campbell

I want you to know a brief moment of darkness was all that I knew, before Heaven’s Gates came into view. Loved ones and friends that I had missed for many years, welcomed me with open arms and many happy tears. All the hurt, fear, and pain that I have ever known, is gone from my life, I am finally home. I gazed upon the LORD’S sweet smiling face, and for the first time in my life….I knew and felt his grace. I know that you miss me, but please dry your eyes; I will always be watching and loving you from my home in the sky.

Some folks say that life is a game. If it is, I am certain of only one thing—at the end, the winner is not the person with the most money, the most “stuff”, or the most power.~~The winners are those with the most love. So if life is a game the object of the game is to give and receive as much love as possible.~~Jeremy was a real winner in life. He was a wonderful and kind man.~~Friends from Ft. Campbell, Ky.~~R.I.P. my friend.~~Yes, friend. For if you had Jeremy as a friend, you had a true friend for life.

Tribute For Jeremy R Gulletton May 14, 2008 at 12:00 am

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend, he referred to the dates on his tombstone from the beginning to the end.~~He noted first came the date of his birth and spoke the following date with tears, but he said, ” What mattered most of all was the dash between the years.”~~For that dash represents all the time he spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth.~~For it matters not how much we own…the cars…the house…the cash…what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.~~So think about this long and hard, are there things you’d like to change ? For we never know how much time is left that can still be arranged.~~If we could just slow down enough to consider what is true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel.~~Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love people in our lives like we have never loved before.~~If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering this special dash may only last a while.~~So when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions to be rehashed, would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash.~~Stevie Coan, Louisville, Ky.

Beautiful memories are wonderful things, they last till the longest day, they never wear out, never get lost, and can never be given away. To some you may be forgotten, to others a part of the past. But to those who loved you, your memory will always last.~~Nikki Coan, Louisville, Ky.

The Soldier Poem~~I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness…..should
I fail. I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, pained, and hoped….but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was….A Soldier.

Think of me as one at rest, for me you should not weep. I have no cares, no troubled thoughts, for now I am asleep.–The living breathing me that was, is now forever still, and time goes on without me as time forever will.–Those of you who liked me, I sincerely thank you all, and those of you that loved me, I thank you most of all.–It matters not of time began or if time will ever cease. I was here, I used it all, and now I am at peace.

There beside a grave she stands, a folded flag cluthched in her hands. A silent teardrop on her face, her brave young child has entered grace. She does not hear the sermon said, just memories run through her head. The child she held so long ago, the child with faith she let go. The child who heard the nations call, and in the end gave it all, without fear or thoughts of self, thoughts of freedom and little else. The bugle plays TAPS in the wind, a mournful sound it does send. A reminder to us all, that for freedom this price was paid, and her sweet young to rest was laid.~~ Thank You Spc. Gullett for Defending America and Freedom all over the world.~~To your family and friends…May GOD hold and comfort you every night for the rest of your lives.~~Norma Meyer-Coan, Louisville, Ky.
